From being Deputy Chief Minister to holding several key ministerial portfolios in the State, Shri Ajit Pawar has spent the past three decades leading Maharashtra forward.
He has made equitable development and instituted ground-breaking reforms across the state. Under his able leadership, Maharashtra’s per capita income grew to INR 1,05,493, the state’s literacy rate climbed to 82.9 percent, infant mortality declined from 48 to 25, and energy production grew to 89,465 million KW/hour - in fact, by 2012, he had nearly completely resolved Maharashtra’s complex load shedding problem.
From simplifying ordinary citizens’ lives with his amendments to the Bombay Stamp Act, to stimulating industrial growth with several progressive subsidies, and drafting legislation to uplift farmers and fisherman - every sector of the economy has benefited from his astute socio-economic policies.
